Location was West Tisted in Hampshire SO24 0HJ.

13 walkers met in the hamlet of West Tisted in chilly weather but with the promise of sunshine to come. Our route was from a walk in the Vantage Magazine archive. The title was Bramdean Common and the Church in the Wood (4.5miles)

Our route afforded views across the beautiful Hampshire countryside and soon we were blessed with lovely sunshine. We walked to the end of a well maintained farm track before entering the wood on Bramdean Common.

There was lots of forestry activity going on so we made sure to let the workers know we were walking through the area. The wonderful smell of freshly sawn wood was in the air.

Our walk eventually led to the hidden gem that is the church. We had arranged with the trustees to get access to see inside and we were treated to a brief history of the building and the reason for its founding in this particular location.
We had our coffee break here while waiting for the keyholders to come.

The remainder of the route took us through the wood before picking up our track around the edge of the fields and back out to a metalled road. We then entered a field with the oil pipeline from the south coast clearly running under the ground. This well signed route formed the right hand side of our path up to the fields leading back to the road back to our starting point.

10 walkers were staying for lunch which was taken at The Fox pub in Bramdean SO24 0LP. Everyone really enjoyed their food choices and the excellent service. The pub may even have some of the diners back for their Christmas lunch!!!..

Walkers were, AS, FB,SE,JE,PG,EG,RD,JE,PW,SW,JR,HR,RM.
