 Ripley walk 5/1/26

 Good afternoon to all and wishing you all a very good and successful new year when it comes later tonight.
Next Monday's walk will be a Fancy free walk that Carol and I did in the early part of 2025.
It is easy walking / 5 miles / and completely flat with no styles or hills to climb  !!
The route takes us from the centre of Ripley , past the beautiful Papercourt Lake and onto the Wey Canal.
We will take a mid-walk break beside the canal where the local community has erected a super " rest and relax "  area with plenty of benches and tables. The remaining second half of the walk takes us past working locks and some very good views of Newark Priory. We finally end up at our Starting point. When I pre walked the route at the beginning of this week the ground was firm and drying out, so boots are advised. The weather looks dry but Cold !!!
We will lunch at the Jovial Sailor which is on our way home about a mile out of Ripley.
