The walk on Monday is a circular walk of 5 miles from Newlands Corner car park (GU4 8SE), which is now free.  

The route commences on the North Downs Way and then branches off on paths through the Clandon and Merrow Woods.  The terraine is mainly fairly level with one or two gradual inclines, and just one sturdy stile.  There are inevitably a few muddy patches but nothing horrendous.  The route briefly returns to civilization about half way to cross a main road.  

We will be starting from the entrance to the car park so I suggest we gather opposite the cafe.  I have booked a table at The Percy Arms in Chilworth for lunch.
